This is a “recipe” for cooks who sometimes cook without recipes. The instructions are brief, the amounts are approximate and you can adjust the ingredients to your own taste.
I use these particular ingredients when I make my own Caesar salad because they’re fresh and very flavorful.
heart of romaine, 1 medium head, torn or chopped
fresh ground pepper, a dash (about 1/8 tsp)
fresh lemon juice (about 2 tsp)
fresh grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese (about 1-2 T)
Gardini’s Caesar salad dressing
croutons, seasoned for Caesar salads
Toss romaine with pepper, lemon juice and cheese. Dress lightly with Caesar salad dressing. Toss. Add some croutons. Toss again. Serve immediately.
