Decompress the Stress

hugsWhen stressed we tend to use food to unwind and decompress.  We need to think beyond our automatic response to eat.  Instead, we can choose to relax in a positive, pleasurable and healthy non-food way.

Try one of these stress busters:

  • Take a well deserved nap
  • Watch a favorite movie
  • Put your feet up and read Psalm 103
  • Get a massage
  • Play music and sing along
  • Spend time on a hobby
  • Buy fresh flowers
  • Take a walk with a friend
  • Write in a journal
  • Hug somebody
  • Hug somebody again

What is your personal non-food stress buster?  Don’t have one?  Get one.  You’ll be glad you did.
